hellos(:
the brownies camp was extremely FUN!
the trainers were kind and really really funny.
the campfire was very exciting as you all did a belly dance
and aaron was reeeally funny.
and not to forget sexy too, haha
and th games were fun and it also tells me that teamwork is very important
the blindfolded walk was scary but fun as we didnt know where we were
and we got to taste, feel and remember things
the dragontail game wa fun too but a little dangerous as some fell down
the game teaches us to think of others as we run away from the other teams
as the last few people might not be able to catch up and might fall down
overall, the camp rocked!
and the trainers too!!
WHOO HOO!
WE WILL MISS YOU!
p.s. accept me and others in Facebook(:
Love,

Today was an enjoyable day for me as our trainers played a game called GOALS.

The main purpose is to find the word GOALS. Each ping-pong balls have different letters on it and the floor will be filled with sweets. These sweets act as our bonus points and there are lots of obstacles in the game. The obstacles are mainly chairs. That’s because if we want to achieve our goals we must overcome all obstacles that come in our way. We must
have all the confidence and bravery to overcome all these obstacles in our life.

On the 10th and 12th April 2009, San Yu Adventist School engaged us (Yongsen, Avanna, Fannie & me) for their annual two day leadership training camp. It was my first time serving the school and I was quite surprised to find out that most of the students were not local. They come from all over the world; we even had one student that came from Trinidad. Awesome.
Day 1 – Friday – We had the usual ice-breaking session followed by a short workshop about Leadership. After that, we conducted an orienteering workshop prior to our trip to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.

The moment we set foot on Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, it started to rain. It was the typical Category 1 weather; heavy downpour with lightning and thunder. What’s more interesting was that my group refused to put on their ponchos (they enjoyed the rain) so all of us ended up totally drenched from inside out. Just imagine all of us crawling on the ground for hours looking for the checkpoint tag (because it was rather dark inside the forest) while rain continues to fall on us.

Day 2 – Sunday – The main highlight of the day was the water rafting activity and CCI Challenge at Pasir Ris Park. The students were split into two to carry out the CCI Challenge and Rafting Activity respectively (they inter-switched after that). For the rafting activity, the students had to construct their own water rafts with the given logistics before they sail out to sea. Their rafts were really cool and even managed to successfully float on the water!

All in all, I would say that we (the trainers) have successfully managed to build rapport with the students and effectively teach them leadership skill(s) that would benefit them in the future. It was a bittersweet farewell at the end of the day; I was glad that the students all managed to learn something from the camp yet I was sad that we had to part with the students and teachers.

Loves,

Maybelin (Facilitator of San Yu Adventist 10th / 12th April)

It was an orienteering program that day and there was this girl who was having slight leg cramp after the program. While attending to her, we were chatting and she was asking me about our company and my job as a facilitator. She told me that she inspires to be a facilitator too next time. Though she was in pain, she had a smile on her face. That was the first time I had heard something like this from a student.

I can see the passion in her eyes and I am truly proud of her that she knows what she wants. Having a goal in life is what keeps us moving. What we need is to believe in ourselves. Never be afraid to ask someone for advice. I shared with her about facilitation. Yet, I believe I had learnt as much from her.

HELLO! YES this is the BIG THING that we are all LOOKING FORWARD TO! Our very OWN CCI blog! The one channel where we can share our views, ideas and emotions. Though I only entered CCI two months ago, I had never once felt like an outsider. As cliché as it might seem, it has become my 2nd home! Besides literally spending most of my time in base, CCI is the place where I found comfort and assurance.

This is the place where I had made great friends.

This is the place where my passion is and I can just be who I am.

This is also the place where we can share, learn and grow together.

Undeniably, I had learnt the most from the students themselves. One of my most unforgettable moments is the program in Anderson Primary School. Once, they were showing me the files that they had made and designed based on the theme environment and leadership. What impressed me was a girl’s file with a quote,

“When wealth is lost, nothing is lost.
When health is lost, something is lost.
But when Character is lost, everything is lost.”

She is only primary three. Yet, she understood the true meaning of character and the importance of it. Looking at the many adults who had lost their character along the way because of their obsession with money, they seemed so inferior beside her. That day, we awarded her with “the best designed file” title. We shared the quote with the whole class.

The class learnt something. So did I.

Love,

“CCI - Creation of Cheerios, INVINCIBLE!”

Working for my passion and interest was when I met Cheers just 3 years ago. Remembering then that this was my very first part time job. Being brought up by a conservative family, my father did not allow me to work and insist that I should stay home and not find trouble for myself. However, being extremely hyper-active and having the determination to rebel against my father’s good intention, I decided to be independent and made my first step in pursuing my passion with Cheers.

I still vividly remember the very first project that I been to was to Northspring Secondary and my latest project I’ve done till date (17 April ‘09) is De La Salle School, Sembawang Seconday School and Holy Innocents Primary School. Every school that I have been to for these past 3 years, which includes my mother school, Springfield Secondary School, I gain insight experience as a facilitator and strive to become better.

There was this primary school that I did a Bukit Timah Hike with, I still remember that I was not feeling all so well and I was on the verge on breakdown. That was when my students started cheering on, shouting cheers and motivating one another. As Justin Koh said, “Cheers- it’s about touching lives”. I would double that, not only we would like to touch lives of the students to nurture them into better seedlings. Students we have taught plays a really big impact to us facilitators as well. School such as, San Yu Adventist School, De La Salle and many many more.

Thank you CCI! I would really like to thank the company from the bottom of my heart for nurturing me to becoming who am I today and tomorrow. You are the best! Let us all continue to strive together as a big fat Cheerios family.

P.S.: My father is really glad that I joined the big cheerios family despite his initial disagreement on my joining earlier on.

Loves,
Avanna

A Brilliant Film, Now people will recognise Randall as a good actor, 18 April 2009

First of all I would like to say Randall was SIMPLY AWESOME in that movie, totally Oscar-worthy performance. The story revolves around his involvement with this organization called CCI, from the first time he met Martin & Justin at Thomson Plaza to visiting the “base”. In that scene we first saw the deliciously hot Carolyn, performing well for such an actress of young age.

From there on the adventure begins. It was a roller coaster ride, starting in the first camp event at Kranji Sec. Sleeping in classrooms, out-door cooking, games sessions were all very memorable scenes but the most funny bit still belongs to Philander who marched those boys into the toilet like a drill sergeant. I was laughing my pants off.

Next came CFA5 at East Coast Park It was absolutely hilarious to see Randall posing as a newbie participant, revealing that cheeky grin while playing that flip over canvas game as he hugged those hot chicks in his team. Man how I wish I was in his shoes …
It was followed by a profile thingy.session by Hong Ting. He’s this smart guy with the cool vibe.
The rest of the course played out, from art of facilitation to cheer sessions but the role-playing segment. It was CRAZY AS HELL !!!
Carolyn really stole the show with her over-the-top wailing and during the cheering portion, you will not believe some of the cheers they came up with. They were really really REALLY good.

And what’s a good movie without a beach scene. The lovely sands of Sentosa provided the perfect backdrop as the Cheerios enjoy their Fun in Da Sun. Putting the babes and the hunks aside, here’s where Randall showed his skills at beach volleyball and Frisbee and boy was he good.

Days passed and outings came and gone, but the fun continues, 2 of which that caught my eyes were the night cycling and zoo trips.
Cycling at night over that long distance looked pretty grueling to me, but the cast really hung in there, even under pouring rain, while enjoying great food over the course. But the most heart-warming scene was when they helped a fallen motorcyclist in that heavy rain, shows you there’s still good Samaritans around you The highlight of that zoo trip definitely belonged to Randall, who won a kiss from a seal during the animal show after successfully throwing a Frisbee at it. Man again, he was good.

As the story played out, 2 more events came …
TFC, where the Legend of the Amigos was born. It still amazes me how that jungle scene was shot so well, gritty realism as those brave guys overcame all those obstacles and finally got out from there. Discovering that hubcap was like the light at the end of the tunnel, the best ending to their ordeal and I can totally relate why it meant so much to them as a trophy.

Finally, what’s an ending without a party? It’s Social Night !!!
Those hunks who participated in that Manhunt, they really deserve credit. Wearing those tight, white semi-see-thru singlets and struttin’ their stuff. I tell you the screaming and squealing of teenage girls couldn’t be any louder in that movie theatre. But I did notice one guy, he looked more like kopitiam uncle, but what the heck, it was still great fun watching them make a fool of themselves. And of course it’s followed by the usual after dinner KTV and drinking sessions.

Overall this film had a great story and quality acting that will make this film stand out as a comedy hit.
It just looked so much fun that it makes me want to join CCI too.

RAWK ON CCI !!!

Bye bye lo!
