Brownies Camp - (CHIJ OLN: Shaleen Goh)
Jun 11th, 2009 by admin

Reflections from a Primary 6 girl from CHIJ OLN:

hellos(:
the brownies camp was extremely FUN!
the trainers were kind and really really funny.
the campfire was very exciting as you all did a belly dance
and aaron was reeeally funny.
and not to forget sexy too, haha
and th games were fun and it also tells me that teamwork is very important
the blindfolded walk was scary but fun as we didnt know where we were
and we got to taste, feel and remember things
the dragontail game wa fun too but a little dangerous as some fell down
the game teaches us to think of others as we run away from the other teams
as the last few people might not be able to catch up and might fall down
overall, the camp rocked!
and the trainers too!!
WHOO HOO!
WE WILL MISS YOU!
p.s. accept me and others in Facebook(:
Love,
Shaleen and the other brownies :D

WE MISS YOU A LOT!

Hi Ben Wei,

It has been a meaningful time with CCI despite the short time with you guys. Honestly speaking, being the first time interacting with normal stream students, I was not really comfortable facilitating, which I believe you all can see.

Conducting the programs can never be easy as there bound to have naughty kids around. Some can be extremely noisy, extremely bo chap, and extremely rude. Nevertheless, in every single class/teams I went to, I will always see these little angels, the chubby and toot toot ones, and the super helpful ones. The most fulfilling part will be to actually get their attention and to impart knowledge to them, and knowing that you have made a change in their lives.

CCI has shown me a group of dedicated and passionate Cheerscis/ Cheerios. People who can dun sleep when it comes to work; people who can be super hyper and enthu. A good facilitator requires passion, and a lot of patience and perseverance (qualities which you all have). You guys have been doing a good job and I know you all can continue doing so.

To all trainers, thank you so much for taking care of me and the rest of the NTU students.

Lionel – Mr. Very Handsome, it was nice working with you. I learnt a lot from the way you conduct the programs, like how you gather attention at the start of each program. I still cannot figure out why the GYSS kids called you “nadou”. Work hard for you studies.
Yong Liang – jia you for your upcoming exams! Maths and econ right? Same as ben wei right?
Kah Hoe – agreed with wad u said during debrief. We should never easily give up on and hack care those kids who refuse to listen. If we give up on them, we will be basically defeating the purpose going down to educate.
Carolyn – Daryl says you dun look like xx, he says you look damn cao lao. Anyway, take care of your voice because the kids need you.

Although it has only been 4 days, it was an enriching experience for me. This is something which I dun think any top JCs and top Universities can show and teach us. I’ll never see teachers and facilitators the way I used to. Thanks for touching my life. CCI wooosh!

Best regards,
Kefeng

Today was an enjoyable day for me as our trainers played a game called GOALS.

The main purpose is to find the word GOALS. Each ping-pong balls have different letters on it and the floor will be filled with sweets. These sweets act as our bonus points and there are lots of obstacles in the game. The obstacles are mainly chairs. That’s because if we want to achieve our goals we must overcome all obstacles that come in our way. We must
have all the confidence and bravery to overcome all these obstacles in our life.

San Yu Adventist School (Maybelin - Fac)
Apr 20th, 2009 by admin

On the 10th and 12th April 2009, San Yu Adventist School engaged us (Yongsen, Avanna, Fannie & me) for their annual two day leadership training camp. It was my first time serving the school and I was quite surprised to find out that most of the students were not local. They come from all over the world; we even had one student that came from Trinidad. Awesome.

CCI, to me. (Peiyan - Fac)
Apr 20th, 2009 by admin

CCI is a company that does not look like a company to me.

Instead it makes me feel more like a family with people of different ages, coming together to work. At the same time, enjoying the working process and the fun that comes from it.

HELLO! YES this is the BIG THING that we are all LOOKING FORWARD TO! Our very OWN CCI blog! The one channel where we can share our views, ideas and emotions.  Though I only entered CCI two months ago, I had never once felt like an outsider. As cliché as it might seem, it has become my 2nd home! Besides literally spending most of my time in base, CCI is the place where I found comfort and assurance.

My perspective of CCI (Avanna - Fac)

“CCI - Creation of Cheerios, INVINCIBLE!”

Working for my passion and interest was when I met Cheers just 3 years ago. Remembering then that this was my very first part time job. Being brought up by a conservative family, my father did not allow me to work and insist that I should stay home and not find trouble for myself. However, being extremely hyper-active and having the determination to rebel against my father’s good intention, I decided to be independent and made my first step in pursuing my passion with Cheers.
